Isn't it

Isn't life quite unfair?

Of all the countries with known carbon footprint, Philippines only has the 0.26 of the pie (and 0.48 for greenhouse gas) YET our country suffers from torrential rains and other extreme weather conditions which is said to be the effect of climate change,

It claimed (and  will be claiming) the lives of those who doesn't even enjoy the life with a constantly lit home, a television set, a computer and basically relies on nature for their survival. While foreign countries (and organizations) aid for help (I hope this statement is false... I REALLY HOPE), it's as if we owed them a lot and we gave them an economical leverage in exchange of their help. Yes Filipinos take such concept seriously. In fact, I think it is embedded in our DNA, being grateful.

I mean WHY?! It's not our fault that we happened to inhabit our lands BEFORE the concept of "NATIONS" developed. Ugh I wish I was alive before such concept was born. Sorry but I found such as a pretentious form of "order". Yes it prevented people battling and losing their lives in the shores but the battles haven't ceased, but merely transferred to another field; economics, immigration etc...

With the exploration of Benham Rise, a potential oil well, I find society more unfair. Yes we do now know that fossil fuel is as dirty source of energy -- BUT I find such repressive. Probably it's our fault that we've discovered our ticket to develop our country way too late (yes oil is money); too late because human thought is already aware of its adverse effect. Isn't it unfair that those developed countries have exploited such richness of resources ahead of us get to live an easy life and here's us the prime targets of belittling in a global scale?

When Al Gore delivered the speech regarding climate change people were divided on the issue. There are the pros for obvious reasons and there are the cons that asserts he is just creating a demand in order to sell their products. Well learning from history, isn't "SPORTS" such a good economic ploy to those who've discovered such. So how can one say the cons are just making-up stories and all.

If they're serious with the mitigation of such ecological disturbance, I think the one in the forefront should also be the one that leads in the race of carbon footprint and greenhouse gases! And all their efforts should be perceived as fixing their mistakes rather than being a favor from a rich neighbor and as a "savior of the mankind".

Ugh. Whatever.
