Something About Myself

Note: Everything in this entry came from the semi-obligatory autobiography as prescribed by the Department. But hey! I loved doing it! It was fun to have a walk down the memory lane. If it wasn't required then I probably don't have a chance to do it now. :)

JOHN CRIS HABLADO JALANDO-ON was born on April 9, 1993, the youngest of three children of Lucita Hablado and Modesto Jalando-on. He spent his childhood running around the streets playing teks, jolens, bang-sak and burying his feet in the sand (the construction type) in their residence at Upper Bicutan, Taguig City. When forced by time, he went to Silangan Elementary School for his primary education where he was first introduced to the sciences in somewhat different manner (growing of backyard vegetable, tillage of soil, mixing of random household chemicals to extract the chlorophyll of a leaf, burning random stuff using a magnifying glass and potentially burning the school because of candle wax). Being a true blue TaguigeƱo, he went to Taguig Science High School for his secondary education where he was bombarded by information of all sorts but alas; there’s still science! Even though he never get to hold a microscope during his stay there (if his memory serves him right) and science is only for the selected few, his interest for life science grew deeper. Because he has good parents who allowed him to pursue his dreams, they allowed him to enroll in the course B. S. in Biology where he didn’t expect lots of adventure is waiting for him.  He have gone through many cities for the first time in search of plants, insects and sometimes just for fun; done community work and experienced living with the aetas; meet the most inspirational, intellectual, selfless people and the contrary; elected as an officer for a student organization; sung folksongs and drew a LOT of organisms that enhances his creative “skills”; clean the carabao feces using his hands; done lots of reading and experienced being sleepless for the first time in his academic life; prepare slides and literally bleed his finger out just to make a good blood smear; cry because of formalin; lastly, to read, read and read. After gaining his degree to his ‘Sintang Paaralan’ (start the PUP Hymn), he plans to enhance his learning in the field of Medicine.
